On Your Day

I thought I'd just write a little note for Denali on her birthday. Today started early with a doctor's visit and shots. No fun but Papa Bear held you and made it all better. Then we came home and you didn't feel too well. We snuggled on the couch nearly all day watching MTV and CNN (the only two channels we get in english). It was so nice to snuggle you. Normally you are too busy to snuggle but today you must have realized that it was a special day for me and you. One year ago you came out to the world to meet us all. I wasn't able to give you much love on that day but Papa Bear went with you and loved on you as much as he could. You were fiesty from the start with red hair, blue eyes and lashed that would make anyone jealous. In one year you have moved to a foreign country, traveled to five countries and made time to grow and learn on the way. You have such a contagious smile and your eyes light up any room. People are drawn to you and you respond in kind to them. You are always into everything, exploring is in your blood. You don't like to use things the easy way, you like to challenge each toy and make it a tool for another purpose. You are a tiny little ball of energy and spunk. You love music and have taken to clapping when you hear a beat that you like. You dance and sing too. You like to climb and crawl and wave to people. Today we had pizza and red velvet cake.
