Spring Is Around the Corner

Kera Grace is turning two in 2 days! I can't believe it. Really has flown by. Nali is getting taller and is looking to keep her slim little midge of a figure. They both have personalities beyond their years. Nali is into all things girlie. Given the choice she wears at least one dress a day, some days more than one. I remember Denali's 2nd Birthday, we had it at Megaplay, she chose her cake, she was very specific about what she wanted. Kera had no idea it was her birthday. I made her some cupcakes, she played, got a video and a couple books and was just so happy to be around her family. She is so thoughtful and loving. In the car on the way home she said "My special me." I said that's right you are special. To which she replied, "Nali, a special, Mommy a special, Papa a special." She likes to hold Nali's hand when we ride in the car. She likes to dance although I think she got the Carter lack of rhythm. She likes to hug big and smile even more. I can't believe how blessed I am to have two amazing daughters. Nali is planning for her birthday. Of course each detail will be orchestrated with precision and planning. She has already decided on a cake and the bowling ally so that she can "dance to the lights while I bowl."

We Ski

Therefor we are...
In the event that any of you were wondering the minimum age to put a Duffy on two planks of waxed fiberglass with hard plastic boots and a helmet... 20 months. Nali is now a little skier. She loves to ride up the hill in the pack (giving papa a big workout) and then ski down the entire run by herself. In fact yesterday she topped off at 6 kilometers of skiing. The ski leash is the best invention ever for this because it saves your poles and your back from having to do the "kid between legs hanging from pole running perpendicular with knees". Not a maneuver that feels good for either party when falling.

Santa, Presents, Sweets and More

All over in a day... Maybe we should start a 12 days of Christmas thing to break up all the fun. I must admit these girls are so loved. Thank you for all of the thoughtful and amazing gifts. They will be well used, loved and played with.

Santa Clause is Coming

Nali is getting very excited for Santa to come. She has seen the pretend one at the tree lighting ceremony, the German one at her kindergarten... but she is waiting for the "American one!" He supposedly equals pay dirt. She is wanting a skate board, an alpaca, some snow shoes, snow and various other things that she thinks of. Kera isn't so interested in the man with the white beard. In fact, not unlike many little ones, she screams like she has seen the devil himself when she is put on his lap for a photo. Maybe next year.
